Over the next few years, eligible Access-A-Ride customers will get a new AAR OMNY ID card. This card will replace your current AAR ID and MetroCard.
The AAR OMNY ID card will:
- Work as your official AAR customer ID
- Let you pay your AAR fare without cash
- Give you up to four free rides a day on subways, buses, the Staten Island Railway, and the Roosevelt Island Tram (if eligible)
You can still pay with exact cash if you prefer, but drivers do not give change. Be prepared to show the driver your AAR OMNY ID card, if requested.
There is no application process. If you're eligible, you will receive your new card automatically over the next few years.
